Presenter: Meg Taylor, JD, MA is a private practice attorney who became program manager, contracts manager, and facilities manager for the State of Oregon. She holds certificates in Behavioral Healthcare, Procurement, and Internal Auding. She also is ILR’s chair of the popular Samplers program.
Description
State agencies are powerful! This course will provide a primer of how state agencies are managed both politically and ethically, from the executive leadership in the Governor’s office, the roles of the Department of Justice and the Secretary of State as well as professional organizations and certifications, internal auditing and management tools, and the complexity of these inter-relationships. Additionally, the course will address stakeholder interests (and responsibilities) which are dramatically portrayed in Hendrik Ibsen”s An Enemy of the People, rewritten by Arthur Miller in 1950.
