Description

The Industrial Revolution was a period from the mid-18th century to the mid-19th century that transformed agrarian, manual labor-based societies into industrialized, urban ones beginning in Britain and spreading globally.  It was characterized by a shift from hand production to machine manufacturing.  During this time, however, there were several major developments that dramatically transformed Western society and led to socioeconomic changes that changed the way we lived.  Through the use of lectures and videos this course will explore seven of those life-changing accomplishments.
