Description
Almost everyone has flown in a commercial airplane. However, only a few flyers understand the basic concepts of flight and how commercial airline operations are managed. What makes an airplane fly and how does it stay in the air, even when weighing several tons? What keeps aircraft in flight from running into each other and how does it know to get from one place to another? What about Air Traffic control and air safety?
There is the possibility of a field trip to Pima Air and Space Museum following the final session of the course.
Presenter: Chuck Stump, popular ILR instructor at both Sun City and Saddlebrook, worked for many years at Cessna Aircraft Company.
5 Wednesdays, February 12, 19, 26, March 5 and 12 at 9:00 a.m. in the Activity Center’s Hopi Room.
