Description

Caywood Cotton Farm – Thursday November 21st  10:00 AM   group size 26

Arizona grows some of the finest cotton in the world producing both Pima and Upland cotton.  The Caywood Farm, purchased in 1930, is a 5th generation farm on 255 acres.  The farm grows a variety of crops besides cotton, including several forage crops.  We will have an indoor seated presentation learning about the complex process of “seed to bale”, handling drought, water conservation and water delivery.  A hayride to the cotton field provides an opportunity to see and pick cotton. Very little walking is involved on this fascinating two and half hour tour. Lunch is at a nearby restaurant in Casa Grande. Carpooling is 8:30 in the View lot.
