Description
These two sessions will be a light-hearted overview of birding for the non-birder, concentrating on identifying birds in SCOV and Arizona and learning their habits. It will also touch on optics, Apps and other tools to make birding more fun and to help participants get started in this wonderful pastime enjoyed by 98 million (New York Times) enthusiasts in the USA. There will be adequate time for Q&A.
Presenters: Peggy and John smith are officers in the SCOV Birding Group and have been birding for over 40 years. Peggy worked for Tucson Audubon for ten years and has taken courses from Cornell University’s Lab of Ornithology. Both are volunteer guides for visiting birders to Southeast Arizona via the BirdingPal program having hosted birders from countries, states and provinces all over the world. There will be an optional birding walk after the course ends, date to be arranged with participants.
