Description
AI is a catch-all term used to describe ‘intelligent machines’ which can solve problems, make/suggest decisions and perform tasks that traditionally required a human to do. New algorithms (set of instructions), new hardware, new software developers all herald a massive sea change in what computers are capable of solving. It is not a single thing but a constellation of different technologies. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of this new technology, how it has developed, what are its useful applications, and examples of machine learning, as well as the challenges. And importantly, how can it benefit the lives of retired residents in Sun City?
Presenter: Mary Lou Soffa has a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh, is Owens R. Cheatham Professor of Science Emerita at the University of Virginia, has numerable research interests and awards. She lives in Saddlebrook and teaches through its ILR program.
