Tuesday, March 14. This is a behind-the-scenes tour into both the Basketry and Pottery Vaults wherein some of the 24,000 whole pots and 36,000 baskets and fabric arts are stored according to the State’s Custodial mandate. Your guide will be the Head of Collections, Diane Dittemore. Our group will be split in 3 as there is a vault size maximum of 8. One of the rotating groups will be with a special docent taking you through the “Ancient to Modern Southwest Native Jewelry Exhibit”. The museum, founded in 1893, is the largest and oldest anthropological research facility in the US Southwest and is home to 13,000 years of history of the 22 Federally Recognized tribes in Arizona. We will carpool at 8:45 at the Views Lot. Lunch is planned for at The Dutch directly across the street from the museum. Group Size is limited to 24. Cost is $15/pp. Tour closed
