4. Early First Ladies – Joan Elder




4 weeks, Thursdays, 1:00-3:00, Mar 17-Apr 7 In-person only, limited attendance.
This course will provide you with much unknown information about the women who were married to the early presidents of the United States. Starting with Martha Washington and proceeding in chronological order you will learn about as many as our time allows. Participants will also see a wonderful video about many of our First Ladies. This course will be the first of a series in the future.

Joan Elder is a life-long educator. Prior to retirement she taught elementary and middle schools in the Los Angeles School District. She also conducted staff development workshops there. After retiring Joan was a consultant for Create-A-Vision, a company devoted to math staff development. Since retiring from that, Joan has taught adult education classes in SaddleBrooke, Sun City Oro Valley, and in the Summer Citizen Program at Utah State University in Logan, Utah.
